PROGRESS REPORT
February 19, 2013
Dear Customers,
We would like to provide you with an update about our progress, as we are getting closer to returning to full operations. You may already be aware of the fact that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reinstated our Registration on December 21, 2012 and we received authorization to begin shelling operations in our Raw Peanut Plant on the same date.
In response to FDA's findings and report, our entire Team has been working with recognized experts to develop an expanded and highly specific program, with food safety as its primary focus. Sunland's entire system of operations has been re-assessed and refined; controls and communication methodology, combined with extensive training and reinforcement of the culture of product excellence at all levels, is being implemented. For what feels like an eternity, we have been spending our time rebuilding Sunland to an exceptional level of manufacturing, accountability and transparency.
Our Peanut Butter Plant is on track to begin test operations in late March, 2013 and we have started the process of regaining our SQF Level 3 Certification with Silliker Global Certification Services. We will send additional updates as we near the re-start of the Peanut Butter Plant, together with additional information about product availability.
Thank you! Your support and patience through this very difficult time has been an invaluable source of strength to all of us.
Sincerely,
The Sunland Team
